Abstract :
The problem of solving the electromagnetic interaction between radiotelephones for mobile communications and human tissue has been widely analysed in many diverse studies available in literature. Electromagnetic dosimetry is still the subject of many research efforts due to the large number of variables involved in the process. In this sense, the growing public concern regarding human exposure to EM fields has lead to a wide range of `absorbent´ gaskets available in the market. In this paper, SAR values for several commercial handsets with and without `absorbent´ gaskets have been obtained in an ENAC certified semi-anechoic chamber. Results clearly show that no absorbing effect is observed for the gaskets.
