Abstract :
The paper presents exact performance calculations of the Viterbi decoder for the 2-state and rate 1/2 convolutional code in the binary symmetric channel. Based on the exactly calculated results, we have discussed two interesting problems: the performance convergence with the truncation length and the performance distinction for each individual information bit
