Abstract :
This paper deals with a new approach for delivering signal processing courses at undergraduate level. Digital art and web based facility are used to demonstrate signal processing concepts. Top-down methodology combined with practical assignments are used to motivate the students. This approach resulted in the exposure of the students to a variety of signal processing software and hardware, which they could not cover in a set of formal laboratory experiments. The enthusiasm of the students while executing these assignments improved their creativity and developed their communication skills. Students worked in their own time and pace which resulted in the improvement of their self-learning abilities. Also, as a result of this approach the authors accumulated a large collection of interesting examples.
