Abstract :
This paper presents an applied system architecture of sensor networks for managing air pollution in the underground mine zones. The system is based on common Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) protocols and multi-radio node architectures which are used to connect the underground mining sites with the outside world. Furthermore, this paper establishes the groundwork for enabling wireless connectivity between the sensing platforms and the routing nodes using data-forwarding techniques and initiating long-range links among WSNs. In this paper, we describe the techniques which highlight common sharing of resources between independent WSNs in order to improve the network operations including the ability to track real-time data and allowing access to Internet services.
