  • Abstract
Presents an adaptive digital filter based on the multi-agent concept. The proposed filter consists of nonlinear small filter agents which cooperate with each other. The proposed filter is capable of adapting to a dynamically varying environment by changing the roles of the agents. At an instant, an agent is assigned to act as the main agent to minimize the error between the filter output and the teaching signal. The other agents, which assist the main agent, aim at minimizing the error of the main agent. Experimental results show good performance compared with conventional filters. The proposed filters are capable of adapting themselves to dynamically varying environments, while the conventional methods fail
