Abstract
In this paper, we present an introduction into the synthesis of consistent graphs. A consistent graph is a directed weighted graph whose cyclic sum of edge weights along all loops is zero. We show that this novel graph theoretical framework is a useful tool for various signal processing tasks, in particular sensor fusion applications. We introduce the concept and notation of consistent graphs, discuss their properties, address different synthesis issues, and describe some signal processing applications.
