Abstract :
The physical properties of Floquet-Bloch waves summarized by the dispersion curves and the Equi-Frequency Surfaces (EFS) (Russell, 1986) have stimulated a tremendous amount of original concepts in planar Photonic Crystals (PhC) structures. In all cases the observation of the propagation direction and the EFS are of primary importance to assess the device performances.
