Abstract :
According to the characteristics of metropolitan public transportation system, a comprehensive evaluation system was established which consisted of indexes of governor benefits, transportation operator benefits and passenger benefits. Then a matter-element evaluation model of metropolitan public transit system is presented by means of extensible engineering method. In the model, the evaluation grades of metropolitan public transportation system is given by using fuzzy subordination degree theory, then the grades and indexes of the comprehensive evaluation system are regarded as matter-elements. The correlation function is established based on the grades, and then the grade of metropolitan public transportation system can be judged from calculating the synthetic correlation degree. Thereafter, it is applied to the evaluation of urban public transit system of YinChuan in the light of survey datum. Some positive results are obtained, and some innovative measures to improve the service level of YinChuan´s public transit system are put forward by the results. The example shows this model is valid in public transportation system evaluation.
