  • Abstract
The paper discusses both Canadian national and international electric energy profiles. On the national scene, data accumulated over the past 30 years, is displayed and analyzed. The importance of both macro-analysis and micro-analysis of energy is emphasised. Social and environmental considerations and the partial inclusion of external costs are examined. On the international scene, the paper addressed the expected fast growth in electrical systems in developing countries and its necessities, requirements, and consequences
