Abstract :
The Karst region is a kind of unique land resource. The sustainable use of land resource in Karst region can only be guaranteed by well overall planning and reasonable functional zoning. In this paper, County Du´an in Guangxi Province, one of the typical Karst regions, was taken as the study object. Evaluation indicator system for functional zoning of land resource was constructed by combining the current status of social economy, nature resource and ecological function. Data gridding method was used in this paper to do classification of the evaluation units, and the land system in Du´an was divided into 313 gridding cells. Neural Network model was used to do functional zoning. The result shows: the land system in Du´an can be divided into 4 functional zonings: ecological environment recovery area, protective development area, ecological economy harmony area and humanities construction area. Suggestions for how to make best use of the land resource in different zones were raised in this paper. This provided a scientific basis for making sustainable use of the land resource in Du´an and the whole Karst region.
