Abstract :
Two photon microscopy benefits from relatively deep penetration of near infrared excitation light into tissue, as multiple been demonstrated in subcellular resolution. With restriction to endogeneous fluorophores one can avoid stains and therefore is able to characterize the tissue in vivo. With lower resolution than commonly used in confocal microscopes and therefore images of several millimeter sizes new aspects can be addressed by connecting the spectral information to macroscopical varying diseases or tissue damage. In this paper the damage is generated by erbium laser irradiation.
