Technology roadmap (TRM) is an efficient management tool, guidance by customizing, to foresee and choose critical technologies for companies. Recently, TRM is popular in American, Japan and UK, and so on. However, few researching and practical guidelines are offered in China. Accordingly, the main purpose of this research is to provide guidance for industrial technology roadmap to technology innovation. Specially, this paper explains the overall process and specific technology roadmap building process in detail through a case example of heavy-duty and large-size CNC machine tool industry in Hubei.
