Abstract
This paper deals with the development of a new approach to control the gas production rate of an anaerobic digestion process as part of a wastewater treatment plant. The developed controller based on a decision tree classifier that uses two special derived features. To verify the capability of the new controller approach is an anaerobic digestion model, the ADM1, used. With the anaerobic digestion model is the capability of the new tree based approach compared with a classical PI-controller approach. The comparison makes the advantage of the new approach obvious.
