Abstract
This paper proposes a design method of a modulation scheme in the presence of phase noise, which includes constellation design, demodulation method. Simulation indicates the proposed 64-point constellation performs at least 5 dB better than QAM at symbol error rate of 10-3 when the average rotation of signal points is 0.1 rad. Compared with the existing patent, the proposed circular constellation performs 1 dB better when the average rotation is 0.1 rad. Simulation indicates the proposed modulation scheme is very robust in the presence of phase noise.
