  • Abstract
    The application of different window functions to the STDFT method for gene prediction that identifies the well known period-three property is explored. Window functions are employed to suppress spectral noise originating from non-coding regions in the DNA sequence. Results are obtained on the choice of a suitable window and a method for tailoring a window to a particular gene is proposed.
