Abstract :
In this work, we show that efficient channeling of atomic fluorescence into guided modes can be achieved in a realistic system of a cesium atom near a nanofiber. We find that different magnetic sublevels have different decay rates. We demonstrate that the thin fiber can indeed act as an efficient subwavelength probe, since about one fourth of the spontaneous emission from the atom can be channeled into guided modes.
