Abstract :
The paper derives parameter equation of raceway section curve about slewing ring with elliptic ball track, and establishes the 3D finite element analysis model of elliptic and round ball track slewing ring. The finite element contact analysis is implemented on two shapes of ball track slewing ring by ANSYS software. The analysis results are consistent with Hertz theory results. The results show that the carrying capacity of slewing ring with elliptic ball track is higher than slewing ring with round ball track by about 20% in the same load.
