Abstract :
The limited bandwidth of a wireless network, along with its varying nature, poses a significant obstacle when streaming the large volume of data that represents a 3D image-based scene. In this paper, we propose an efficient adaptive rate control algorithm which uses an immediate feedback mechanism to determine network status. We also propose a path prediction and pre-fetching schema to deliver a set of images that the client is predicted to request, from which the rate control algorithm can selectively stream if the network status deems it feasible
