Abstract :
The paper presents a full envelope frequency domain based quantitative feedback theory control system design for a marine auto-pilot. An initial H∞ controller was designed for a nominal plant. The design was then improved using a quantitative analysis of the closed-loop specifications. The full envelope control design was obtained by an analysis of plant uncertainty. Control system designs were then validated through nonlinear simulations
