  • Abstract
    Based on practical industrial process control, the concept of networked cascade control system (NCCS for short) is introduced. The simulation of a typical class of NCCS based on TrueTime toolbox by fuzzy PID control method is implemented and investigated. In this kind of NCCS, a real-time network is inserted in the control loops between the primary and secondary controller, as well as between the secondary sensor and the secondary controller. The fuzzy PID control method is adopted by the primary controller, while the secondary controller is still a proportional controller. A comprehensive control system performance index, is proposed based on the nominal performance indices of a NCCS without any networks in the control loops. Simulation examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method and its superiority over conventional PID control method.
