Abstract :
We consider the packet reservation window multiple access protocol (PRWMA) that successfully combines voice and data traffic over a cellular network. In agreement with the mobile channel environment, the presence of capture is also modeled. PRWMA is modified to accommodate the advantages presented by the capture effect. The proposed protocol´s capacity and average delay performance is studied under the power capture model through simulations. Experiments indicate that significant performance gains are offered by the new algorithm
