Abstract :
A robust speed controlled drive system far a switched reluctance motor (SRM) using sliding mode control strategy (SLMC) is presented. After reviewing the operation of an SRM drive, a SLMC based scheme is formulated to control the drive speed. The scheme is implemented using a high resolution position sensor and a microcontroller. The parameter insensitive characteristics are demonstrated through computer simulations and experimental verification
