Abstract :
Chirp characteristics of wavelength conversion based on cross-gain modulation in quantum-dot semiconductor optical amplifier (QD-SOA) were studied. The simulation results show that low chirp can be obtained by controlling the pump and probe power reasonable. QD-SOA is suitable for wavelength conversion due to the lower linewidth enhancement factor as well as it is not sensitive to the optical wavelength.
