  • Abstract
    This paper deals with a new hidden pilot scheme using a precoder in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems in order to improve bandwidth efficiency. With the aid of the hidden pilot scheme, it is possible to estimate the channel without loss of bandwidth. In this paper, we show that the inevitable unknown data interference of the hidden pilot which degrades the performance of channel estimation can be successively reduced by the precoder decision with an iterative scheme. Computer simulations are presented where the proposed scheme is compared with the conventional method in terms of channel estimation, BER, bandwidth efficiency.
