Abstract :
In this paper, we present some of the current work on extending differentiated services architecture to wireless networks to provide QoS. The current approaches explained focus on mobility management, signaling, dynamic resource allocation, and admission control. Various alternatives for bandwidth allocation during mobility are discussed. An adaptive service for streaming applications is also described to improve resource utilization. Finally, we compare the current approaches based on signaling, resource allocation, and admission control.
