Abstract :
Switched mode power supplies (SMPS), have become the natural choices for most of the power supply problems, owing to their higher efficiency and increased power density. In order to gain size, weight and volume advantages, switching at higher frequencies is preferable since this reduces the size of magnetic and filter capacitors. In these paper it is proposed to go in for a DC-DC converter design adopting phase shift resonant conversion with lossless transition using zero voltage switching technique at higher switching frequencies. The experimental results are presented and are shown to match well with those predicted by analysis.
