Abstract
The advance of hi-tech Olympics has played a sustainable role in promoting the development of technology industry since the opening of modern Olympic Games. Especially a wealthy scientific results made under the demand of Olympics, and it is obvious that understanding their characteristics and assessing their quality will contribute to the decision made when we want to make technological knowledge commercialization. So some patents for the needs of Beijing hi-tech Olympic Games will be analysized as a data sample that covers more than two thousand patents with the information of dates of application, IPC code and applicant address etc. In addition to providing an overview of patent actives during the period of preparing the Beijing Olympics, the paper also sheds light on some hot points of domestic scientific research and illustrates the positive effect of Olympics on local R&D.
