Abstract :
In this paper, by comparing among different equations of state, we would like to find one equation of state, which can be applied in wide range of pressures for fcc metals. The equations of state for fcc metals: Al, Cu, Ag have been studied with ultrasonic data. Compared with experimental DAC data, it is found that there is no equation of state, which can describe the compressibility for any materials from low pressures to ultrahigh pressures. However, the Vinet isothermal equation of state can describe the compressibility for fcc metals up to moderate high pressures (for Al about 200 GPa, for Cu and Ag about 100 GPa).
