Abstract :
In this paper we suggest a new method for creating circular polarisation agile resonant elements, based on rotating dipole synthesis which can be employed in advanced low cost applications such as reflectarray antennas where spacial phase shifting is required. We also develop a new yet simple methodology for the analysis of deleterious cross polarisation effects associated with the spatial phase control of mm-waves, and show that such reflect arrays are bandwidth limited by their X-polar characteristics. A novel SSOI PIN diode is described which exhibits low reflection loss characteristics.
