Abstract :
Underwater spark have long been used by various applications such as a source of intense wideband sound. In this paper, a novel underwater spark sound source using the needle-to-plane multi-electrode was developed. The spark sound source has especial advantages such as long lifetime, high intensity and low second pulse. An experimental system has been designed for study the characteristics of the sound source. The physical parameters such as current, voltage, sound pressure and the bubble image of the underwater spark were measured. In addition, the mechanism of the underwater spark is analyzed. Finally, we give the sea experiment result.
