Abstract :
In planar semiconductor microcavities the quantized light modes interact with electronic excitations. When cavity light is in resonance with such electronic excitations, semiconductor absorption end emission can be significantly modified. Such structures are of great interest, with possible applications in new generation of optoelectronic devices.
