Abstract :
Two new acquisition schemes for direct sequence spread spectrum codephase acquisition have been proposed in this study. Both schemes use cyclic accumulation and a matched filter to provide an estimate of the correct codephase. Transition probabilities were evaluated by using computer simulation and the mean acquisition times were determined using a system model. Comparisons of the mean acquisition time for five schemes were made. The results indicate that both proposed schemes will achieve a much better acquisition time performance than previously reported methods
