Abstract :
Catalytic systems based on activated carbon(AC) modified by manganese oxide were investigated for the hydrolysis of carbonyl sulfide (COS) in a fixed-bed reactor. The catalysts were prepared by immersion method. Effect of preparation conditions on catalytic activity were studied, including calcination temperature, content of active component, drying temperature after immersing alkali and addition of rare earth Cerium ions. The results show the optimum preparation conditions of the catalysts are the samples are calcined at 300°C with impregnating 1~5% metal oxide, and then dried at 130°C. The results also show that the Mn-Ce/AC catalyst with Mn:Ce(mole ratio) of 5~10:1 has better performance.
