Abstract :
The present work concerns the spatio-temporal dynamics of multicolor spatial soliton generation in Kerr medium (CS2 here). It allows one in particular to observe the temporal localization of the generated Raman components, and to understand why the pump beam does not present a strong depletion on the time-integrated spatial profiles, even in the high-conversion regime, in contradiction with spatial numerical simulations which predict a total pump depletion when the first Raman Stokes order presents a higher energy than the pump. Spatio-temporal profiles of the pump pulse (doubled Nd:YAG laser; 350 ps pulse duration; spatial width = 50 mum FWHM) at the waveguide output and for different input powers are drawn, we can observe the evolution of the pump pulse including the linear (or diffraction) regime, the solitonic regime with the scalar soliton power, and the high-conversion Raman regime, respectively.
