Abstract
To clarify the bubble behavior in liquid coolant during quenching period of superconducting coils, the bubble motion is analyzed numerically with cylinder-to-plane electrode systems in liquid nitrogen under DC applied voltages. A set of differential equations which describes the motion of a spherical bubble is given and solved numerically to find bubble trajectory, characteristic time of the formation of bubble stagnation and effects of bubble size and gap parameters on the bubble behavior
