Abstract
Use of nuclear power for electricity generation is reviewed on a worldwide basis. Cost of nuclear based generation is compared with fossil-fired, and various cost factors are discussed. The impact of construction times, discount rates, operating performance, and decommissioning are presented from both a global and local basis in order to investigate the cost effectiveness of the nuclear option in the Province of Ontario
