Abstract :
A high-speed ATM/STM hybrid switching network is proposed. The switch employs a multistage interconnection network with local memory to realize the ATM and STM switch together. Different classes of services can use different switch modes. The performance analysis shows that it has excellent delay vs. throughput performance for ATM traffic in the presence of STM traffic and very low blocking and loss probability for STM call requests in the presence of other traffic
