Abstract :
A simple method is proposed for the evaluation of capacitance and associated losses in transmission lines based on multilayer substrates including in-homogenous and nonlinear dielectrics. The method allows finite conductivity in dielectric layers and may be applied where non-uniform, anisotropic, and nonlinear dielectric layers are involved. The technique is implemented for planar transmission lines but may be used for any shape of transmission lines i.e. within the TEM approximation.
