Abstract
Optical fiber based sensors are attractive because they have several advantages over the conventional electrical and/or mechanical sensors. For manufacturing and deploying optical fiber based sensors we need to solve the technical problem on packaging the sensor. One aspect of the packaging is the selection of shapes and sizes of the few components in the sensor, namely, the fiber diameter, the wavelength of light, the shape of the reflector and the length of the space between the reflector and the fiber. In this paper we present an analytical model of the sensor involving the parameters mentioned
