Abstract :
This is a short position statement for the panel “Lights and Shadows of the Intelligent Control,” organized by Pedro Albertos for the 2007 European Control Conference on the Isle of Kos. It shows how the developments of Intelligent Control Systems based on neural networks have followed three main generations. This statement provides a short, broadbrush perspective on the development of intelligent neural feedback controllers. More detail on the historical development, the contributions, and the key results can be found in [1].
