Abstract :
Analytical and computed results are presented for optical circuits consisting of 2×2 or 3×3 couplers with a feedback loop. Such circuits are used in sensors and in communication equipment. They are characterized by resonance type behaviour and can be designed for wavelength dependent switching. A computer program to aid visualization of the evolution of the signal along the coupled waveguides is also introduced
