  • Abstract
¿¿Great Success¿¿ and ¿¿Superbly organized¿¿ were the complementary words we received from the attendees at the 2013 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Workshop Series on RF and Wireless Technologies for Biomedical and Healthcare Applications (IMWS-Bio 2013), which was held at the Furama Riverfront Hotel, Singapore, December 09¿¿11, 2013. By all accounts, Singapore is a beautiful country/city for having conferences. Being so close to the equator, it has a lush setting with beautiful gardens, parks, and pleasant humidity. Singapore is a super, modern city with amazing and architecturally pleasing high rises, diversif ed restaurants and entertainment, and shopping centers. The new Garden by the Bay houses plantations from all over the world in a huge covered dome. Figure 1a is an interesting and unusual pot-looking tree in this garden. Another rather new attraction is the Sands Hotel, with the entire upper deck supporting the hotel´s extraordinary swimming pool. This building is now consid ered one of the most recognized landmarks of Singapore (see Figure 1b).
