  • Abstract
    Recently, arrayed waveguide gratings (AWGs) is reported as IDFT/DFT circuits in all-optical orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system for its potential in large subcarriers and simplified structure. In our paper, we combine the AWGs-based all-optical OFDM system with wavelength division multiplexing (WDM). This scheme is rather simplified than the others which can realize all-optical OFDM and have high spectrum efficiency as well. We proposed a 10GHz-spaced 80 channels WDM system by cascading a 200GHz-spaced arrayed-waveguide and four 1×20 arrayed-waveguide as IDFT/DFT circuits.
