            Abstract : 
A novel conductor loaded cavity filter approach is shown to provide compact size and tuning capability over more than 7% bandwidth while satisfying high rejection at a reasonable decrease of the unloaded Q. For the overall filter design a CAD tool has been established based on a combined MM/FE method. The new concept and the applied CAD are verified by a 5-pole filter design at 5GHz that exhibits accurate agreement of computed and measured results.
