Abstract
We have designed an adaptive orthogonal variable spreading factor (OVSF) transmission scheme in a wideband code-division multiple access (WCDMA) system. The article studies the effects of applying adaptive lengths of spreading factors to a WCDMA system. The system is modeled following the WCDMA standards, Rayleigh fading channel and multiple access interference (MAI). Rate one-half low density parity check (LDPC) codes and turbo codes are studied as the channel coding for each user.
