Abstract :
This paper presents a new rigorous approach for finding the parameters of Engen´s six to four-port reduction algorithm for six -port reflectometer calibration. It requires a matched load and a short circuit as standards as well as some other known loads to find the initial solution. A new procedure for the W-¿ transform is proposed using the same standards. This method has been tested for different reflectometers in two frequency bands. Reflection coefficient measurement results obtained by this technique and other calibration methods prove its efficiency. Finally, a comparison of measurements performed by this method and the heterodyne network analyzer is presented.
