Abstract :
In this paper, the soil moisture was simulated by RegCM3 over the Tibetan Plateau. The results show that: (1) The simulated annual cycle of soil moisture was consistent with the observations, but the simulations of soil moisture with different land surface conditions were different; (2) In areas with sparse vegetation, simulated soil moisture was larger than observations in summer and consistent with that in winter, while in areas with lush vegetation, simulated soil moisture was consistent with observations in summer and larger than that in winter; (3) The larger deviation of simulated soil moisture corresponding to a large deviation of simulated precipitation and temperature. The soil moisture was revised with revised method, the results show that the bias of soil moisture and temperature was decreased, especially for the large bias. The systematic bias of temperature and precipitation was eliminated after revising. We believe that the revised soil moisture and temperature can provide more accurate data over Tibetan Plateau, and have been used to calculate the permafrost distribution.
