Abstract
In this paper, the analysis of a novel distributed CA-CFAR detector based on fuzzy logic in both homogeneous backgrounds and in presence of interfering targets is studied. The distributed fuzzy CA-CFAR detection scheme includes two detectors. Each detector computes the value of the membership function to the false alarm space from the samples of the reference cells. These values are combined in the fusion centre to represent the CFAR threshold by choosing a fuzzy fusion rule. By the performance comparison with other fuzzy fusion rules through the simulation, it is found that the algebraic product rule gives the best detection performance among all the others. This fuzzy CA-CFAR detector also provides robust detection performance in homogeneous background with strong interfering targets.
