  • Abstract
This paper presents series of novel technology for reducing abnormal acoustic noises in the medical-use X-ray tube single-phase motor. Single-phase H-bridge power converter combined with phase shift control, soft boost and single-polar modulate technology was used to implement the purpose. The experimental results show that the maximum level of acoustic tube running noises is 43.5dB if the proposed scheme is used when a 3kW single-phase motor was operated from 0 to 10800 rpm. On the contrary, the level of running abnormal acoustic noises reaches 51.2dB if the conventional method is employed. This result shows that the unsuitable boost mode and working frequency of the motor are the major noise source and the method proposed in this paper is effective for the noise reduction in this kind of motor.
