Abstract :
This paper investigates the effectiveness of base station cooperation (BSC) in single carrier (SC) multiantenna cellular system under frequency selective channel (FSC). The feature of this paper is to consider wideband multiuser system without frequency domain processing like the discrete Fourier transform (DFT), but instead adopting time domain operation using tapped delay line. After some weight design approaches for multiuser (multiple point to multiple point) multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system with and without BSC are described, actual effect of BSC under FSC is evaluated through computer simulations taking into account the path loss, shadowing, and fading. The results show the significant performance improvement by BSC and its problems which further need investigations.
